That's why we've helped provide $270 million in funding to microfinance institutions around the globe, resulting in over 900,000 loans — 92 percent of which went to women-owned businesses. In 2011, Citi partnered with the Equator Principles Association, the Business and Biodiversity Offsets Program and the WWF to create the Biodiversity for Banks program. Designed to help financial institutions factor biodiversity and strong ecosystem services into their lending decisions, the program is helping to make them cleaner, greener, and better for the world.

Citi teamed up with Google to finance Terra-Gen Power's Alta Wind Energy Center in California.
